Itinerary
Day 1 - depart from Ottawa for Iqualuit and then on to Cape Dorset located on Baffin Island's Foxe Penninsula. The remaining afternoon is free to explore the area. After dinner at the hotel your guide will layout a tentative plan for your expedition in an area seldom seen by anyone other than Arctic explorers.
Day 2-5 You will be met on the beach to load the boat and leave. Follow the coast to the Lona Bay area and stop at the traditional camps on the way. Expect to see iceburgs en route. Activities will include viewing caribou, seals and walrus, photography, hiking and fishing.
Day 6 Travel back to Cape Dorset and check into the hotel. Explore the area including galleries full of exquisite carvings and graphics.
Day 7 Return to the airport for your flight back to Iqaluit before taking a boat excursion to Quammaarit Historic Park, a Thule culture site. Visit the Anglican Cathedral and museum.
Day 8 Take an opptional hike to Sylvia Grinnell Territorial Park and see the picturesque rapids. Return to the airport for your flight to Ottawa.
