Running along the shore of the St Lawrence River and into the Matapedia Valley, the Chaleur takes you to a region where the river meets the sea. Known as "La Gaspesie," the region of the Gaspe Peninsula juts out into the Gulf of St Lawrence and the Baie des Chaleurs, providing a dramatic landscape of mountains and rocky cliffs, thick forests, salt air and fishing and farming communities. The Chaleur also passes close to the picturesque village of Perce, with its famous pierced rock and provides the natural spectacles of Forillon National Park.
