Montana and Idaho

Arrive in Billings, Montana, known as Big Sky Country because of the dramatic views across the plains with mountain backdrops. Drive through Beartooth Country to Yellowstone, a testament to the raw power of the elements. Continue west into Idaho and the town of Salmon offering white water adventures. Follow the Salmon River Scenic Byway to Stanley and through the Sawtooth Range to the Payette River Valley. North to McCall and then on through the Idaho heartland and Indian Reservation of Nez Perce to Coeur d’Alene. Turn east and back into Montana again climbing into the Rocky Mountains at Whitefish. Follow Going to the Sun Road through Glacier National Park crossing the continental divide again. Head south through Charlie Russell Country crossing the Missouri River at Great Falls and along the Kings Hill National Scenic Byway to Bozeman. Return to Billings following the Yellowstone River.
