Georgia Just a Peach

Although not filmed there, Gone with the Wind was very much rooted in Georgia and with many other films, like Driving Miss Daisy and Forrest Gump, give a firm  mpression of the State. This route takes you north east into the Appalachian mountains with breathtaking scenery dramatic vistas, wild white water and unspoiled forests. Then head to Augusta, ‘The Garden City’ and the Historic South region with its rich culture and magical garden colours. Further south on the Coast spend time in Savannah the ‘Southern Belle City’. The journey then follows the coast, past islands, linked to the mainland by bridges, with pristine beaches and golf courses, to St Marys a small coastal village located in southeast Georgia which remains one of the States best kept secrets. Return north through the Historic South region to Macon and on to Atlanta.
