Maryland, Down by the Bay

This tour takes in picturesque waterfront communities, beautiful beaches, colonial history, wildlife and charming cities. The route circles Chesapeake Bay, America’s largest estuary. From Baltimore the tour follows the west bank of the bay to Solomons a laid back water front town and on to the old colonial town of Williamsburg. Head back north to the barrier island of Chincoteague and the beaches of the Atlantic coast. Cross the peninsula to explore the fascinating quaint towns of the bay’s eastern shoreline. The route then takes you to Maryland’s capital, Annapolis with its high concentration of 18th-century architecture.
