Chemin du Roy follows the St Lawrence River from Montréal, passing through pretty villages and hamlets hugging the shore nearly all the way  to Québec City. After sampling life in the cities continue to Tadoussac, famous for whale watching cruises. From here take a ferry across the St Lawrence River to Trois Pistoles, and onward along the southern shore. Québec is dotted with National Parks and Wildlife Refuges, including the Gaspésie National Park where Gite du Mont Albert, a chalet style property offers hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to the coast and the far eastern point of the Gaspé Peninsula at Percé, take a boat tour around the Percé Rock and watch for whales.
