Head west out of the city to Woodstock, situated right at the north end of one of the most scenic byways in USA, The Blue Ridge Parkway. Enjoy some quality time in this delightful town with its splendid scenery, and nearby Shenandoah National Park. Continue south to Charlottesville and visit nearby Monticello.
Continue your journey south along the Blue Ridge Parkway to Christiansburg which is an excellent base from which to explore and marvel at the tremendous scenery, May and June are super times to be here to see the flowers in bloom, and the Fall colours later in the year provide an equally spectacular backdrop.
Into North Carolina and Boone before reaching Asheville at the southern end of the Parkway. Home to the opulent Biltmore Estate built by Vanderbilt in 1895, Asheville is a lively city, home to many styles of music and super galleries. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is also within easy reach. The itinerary concludes with stops at Gatlinburg, Charlotte and finally Atlanta for a real mix of experiences and flavours of the USA.
