Highlights

Yoho National Forest
Glacial lakes, forests of red cedar and western hemlock and snow covered peaks lie within the Park''s 507 sq miles. Drive the switchback road to Takkakaw Falls, one of the highest in Canada 10 miles from Field, or go to see the natural rock bridge over the Kicking Horse River.

Wells Gray Provincial Park
One of Canada''s secrets with flower meadows, lakes, rivers and waterfalls including Helmcken Falls, three times higher than Niagara. There are opportunities for hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, wildlife viewing and mountain biking.

Highwood Pass
Take the scenic route to Waterton Lakes past the stunning mountains of the Continental Divide. You''ll drive through Peter Lougheed State Park, Elbow Sheep Wildland and skirt Plateau Mountain and Mt Livingston, reaching Highway 3 near Crowsnest Pass. (The pass closes between mid September to June due to snow)

Waterton Lakes National Park
Together with its neighbour Glacier National Park in Montana, this is the first international peace park and a UNESCO World heritage Site. Magnificent mountain scenery and crystal clear lakes full of wildlife including black bear, elk, moose whitetail deer and bighorn sheep. The park is on a flyway for migratory birds and has over half the plant varieties in Alberta resulting in profusions of wildflowers.

Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump
For 6000 years the Plains Indians relied on the immense buffalo herds for their survival and they used the deceptive prairie terrain to hunt the buffalo and lure them over the sandstone cliffs to their deaths.
