The Calgary Stampede is called The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth for good reason. For 10 days every July we welcome the world to a spectacular celebration of western heritage and values.
When the first Calgary Stampede was held in 1912, the era of the Canadian Old West had only just passed. Guy Weadick famously organized and promoted the original event, and grew the Calgary Stampede into what it is today: an annual 10 day event attracting more than one million visitors each July with rodeo competitions, chuckwagon races, a midway carnival, live music, festival events, arts and culture.
The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth remains a treasured link to the history and a celebration of rodeo and agriculture. With professional rodeo as its signature experience, the Calgary Stampede also features a vast array of arts and agricultural exhibits, musical performances, intriguing cuisine, shopping, and an extensive midway of rides and games. The captivating experience is unrivalled for variety and excitement. The Stampede spirit consumes the city.
Each night’s rodeo event is followed by the TransAlta Grandstand Show starring musical performances and a spectacular fireworks show.

Suggested Itinerary/Excursions
Day 1 - ARRIVE CALGARY
After arriving independently in Calgary, transfer independently to your hotel for a three-night stay. The rest of the day is at leisure to further explore this world-class city. Overnight in Calgary.
Day 2 - DURING YOUR STAY
DAYS 2 & 3 Over the next two days we welcome you to the event most appropriately named “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. Included is one afternoon ticket to a rodeo with gate admission, and one evening ticket to the Chuckwagon Races and Grandstand show with gate admission, as well as 2 Skyrides over Stampede Park. Overnights in Calgary. Rodeo On the afternoon of day 2, the best of the best saddle-up for a three hour ground shaking showcase of world- class rodeo action. There are Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all - Bull Riding. Rangeland Derby On the evening of day 3, nine heart-stopping chuckwagon races explode in an all-out dash for the finish line. Chuckwagon racing is an amazing contest of nerves and horsepower - a challenge that ignites thousands of fans. Grandstand Show Following the Rangeland Derby is the outdoor stage spectacular. For 2 hours, you will be dazzled by the lavishly produced and choreographed non-stop musical variety grandstand show. Overnights in Calgary.
Day 4 - END OF PACKAGE
Enjoy a final morning in the Stampede City before transferring independently to the airport, or continuing your Canadian travels.
