Charleston, SC
Your journey begins in historic Charleston, South Carolina where the first shots of the Civil War were fired. Brimming with southern charm and breathtaking views, this living museum is located on Charleston harbor, an inlet of the Atlantic Ocean. Here, cobblestone streets, pre Civil War era houses, and iconic palmetto trees paint a portrait of the old South. An optional tour to an elegant plantation home allows you to step back in time.

DAY 3
Georgetown, SC
Georgetown, widely accepted as the probable site of the first European settlements was at the center early American history. Today, The Georgetown Historic District is a picturesque, coastal town filled with more than 50 homes, public buildings and sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You can take in its southern charms on walking or tram tours, visit one of its four museums, or test your nerves on its famous ghost tours.

DAY 4
Southport, NC
Southport, at the mouth of the Cape Fear river was originally built around Fort Johnston which was initially constructed to defend against pirates. Today Southport is steeped in history and beauty with much to discover, however no stop is complete without a visit to The Old Brunswick County Jail and a taste of their famous crab-cake sandwiches.

Beaufort, NC
Beaufort, nestled in among North Carolina's Outer Banks, is the site where famed pirate, Blackbeard, ran his flagship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, aground near Beaufort Inlet. Today, the Southern Banks are the protected habitat of wild horses, believed to be descendants of the Spanish Mustangs, brought to North America by conquistadores and trading vessels. The horses frolic freely in the marshes across the creek from the town’s waterfront docks. Also not to be missed is the Beaufort Historic Site and NC Maritime Museum.

DAY 7
Norfolk, VA
Welcome to the coastal metropolis of Norfolk, VA set on the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean. In this city known for its music, antiques and history, enjoy an optional tour of the town and visit the Norfolk Naval Base and the MacArthur Memorial, dedicated to the esteemed Army General Douglas MacArthur known for his command of the Allied Forces in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Tonight, a local musician and historian will entertain you with the history, customs, and sounds of the sea. Begin your morning in Norfolk with an optional guided walk through the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, boasting 155 acres of exquisite gardens and scenic views of lovely Lake Whitehurst. Here, you may decide to savor a sampling of the decadent treats from Rowena’s cake and dessert shop, a Norfolk landmark for more than 30 years.

Baltimore, MD
Arrive in Baltimore, Maryland, the birthplace of the U.S. national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Sitting in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, this vibrant area will delight you with tasty and world famous crab shacks as well as attractions like the Civil War–era warship the USS Constellation and the National Aquarium. Discover the city’s treasures during an optional morning trolley tour, or join the afternoon optional walking tour and learn about Baltimore’s maritime history. Select either tour or combine both for a full day of exploration.

New York, NY
A morning arrival in the Big Apple allows you a full day to explore Manhattan or choose an optional city tour. Filled with diverse neighborhoods, authentic ethnic foods, some of the world’s best theatre performances, and historical monuments, New York City is unparalleled.

DAY 11
Newport, RI
Newport, RI is a blend of historic port and chic resort known for its opulent Gilded Age mansions. Enjoy an optional tour to The Breakers, once the beloved “summer cottage” of the wealthy and influential Vanderbilt family, who made their fortune in shipping and railroads. This evening local musicians perform onboard the ship.
